I’ve always loved soundtracks but sadly I didn’t become aware of anime and its music till very recently! You can imagine my happiness! So, I’d love to start highlighting certain favorites every once and while–even if it’s just a track or two that I like!
I am currently watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Not only is it fantastic story, character, and animation-wise, but I adore the soundtrack; here are three of my favorite tracks.
Far East Suite: This is my pet favorite, because it’s so cheerful, bright, and sweet–I wish it lasted longer (so the characters’ happiness would last longer too.) As far as I’ve heard, it’s the only track of the soundtrack that sounds like it does, haha–either way, it makes me feel incredibly happy!
Crisis in the North: I love the percussion job in this track: it’s urgent, pulse-climbing, anxious. Love it!
Brother: I’m cheating here, because this is from the original Fullmetal Alchemist–it’s the same story, though, so I say it counts (I think it’s from the original…either way, I have to post it!) I love this. The harp is so soft and the violin so tragic sounding. And the song, which starts near the four-minute mark, is beautiful. The title “Brother” is so appropriate. This story is, after all, about two brothers and their commitment and love for one another as they attempt to reclaim their bodies; this piece perfectly captures that tragedy and beauty which is the Elric brothers.
What’s one of your favorite tracks of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood? What are your favorite anime soundtracks in general?
